1984 Chapter II
Mrs Parsons, wife of neighbour Tom Parsons, comes to ask for a favour from Winston. Her kitchen sink got blocked whilst the husband was away from home.
The repair job irritates Winston because the 1930 old Victorian mansions fall apart on daily basis. The mending can either done by oneself or delayed for a long time by waiting for permission from the remote committees.
